Denise Visco, MD

After graduating with honors from the University of Delaware, Dr. Denise Visco obtained her medical degree from Thomas Jefferson University. She served her transitional internship at the Medical Center of Delaware and completed her residency in ophthalmology at Pennsylvania State University, Hershey. Following the completion of her ophthalmic training, Dr. Visco established a private practice in York, Pennsylvania in 1996, and York's only surgeon owned and operated laser vision correction center in 2000.

Dr. Visco is an award winning ocular surgeon who has performed thousands of procedures. Dr. Visco is certified by the American Board of Eye Surgery specifically for LASIK, cataract / implant surgery and maintains her standard board certification with American Board of Ophthalmology. She is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, American College of Eye Surgeons, and American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery. She has also served a three year term as president of the American Board of Eye Surgery and a six year term on the ACES Quality Surgery Program Board.

Dr. Visco enjoys spending her free time with her husband and 3 boys. She also enjoys public speaking and volunteer work in the York community. Her hobbies include orchids and weight training.

Jerome Benz, DO

Dr. Jerome Benz graduated Magna Cum Laude from King's College in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania in 1991. He earned his medical degree with honors from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine in 1997. Dr. Benz then served over eight years with the United States Army, completing his transitional internship at Madigan Army Medical Center in 1998 and his residency in Ophthalmology at Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington, D.C. in 2001. Before joining our practice, he served as Staff Ophthalmologist for four years at Womack Army Medical Center in Ft. Bragg, NC. Dr. Benz is Board Certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology. He has performed thousands of ocular procedures including simple, custom and complex Laser Vision Correction procedures and no-stitch cataract surgery.

Born in Latrobe, Pennsylvania and growing up in nearby Hazleton, Pennsylvania, Dr. Benz also served in Iraq with the 82nd Airborne in 2004. He has been awarded several accolades during his military tenure to include the Bronze Star Medal, Combat Medical Badge, and the Global War on Terrorism Service and Expeditionary Ribbons. He is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons and the American Osteopathic Association.

Dr. Benz lives in York with his wife Kate and son JJ. He enjoys tennis and golf and is an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan.

Laura Lehn, OD

Dr. Laura Lehn is a 1993 cum laude graduate of Elizabethtown College, Pennsylvania. Graduating with top honors, Dr. Lehn received her Visual Science and Doctor of Optometry degree from the Pennsylvania College of Optometry in 1998. She performed her post-graduate residency training in Philadelphia at the Eye Institute focusing on diagnosing and managing eye diseases. After residency training, her practice included a full range of eye care service such as glaucoma management, dry eye treatment, pre and post operative cataract and laser vision care, diabetic and routine eye exams. Dr. Lehn joined Dr. Denise Visco and the Eyes of York staff in 2002.

Dr. Lehn is a member of Beta Sigma Kappa, the International Optometric Honor Society and American Optometric Association.

Dr. Lehn enjoys scrapbooking, gardening and spending time with her husband and two children. She is an active member of St. Joseph's church in East York.
