Are you having trouble reading up close?
It seems to happen overnight. You suddenly can’t read a menu, see your wrist watch or review the scores on your golf card. You are not alone. Presbyopia is America’s most prevalent eye condition affecting nearly 90 million people. The condition causes near vision to fade with age and usually begins to be symptomatic in our 40’s. NearVision CK can help improve your vision, allowing you to see clearly like you could 10 years ago. It’s an exciting new advancement in vision correction because it uses radio waves instead of a laser to treat your vision problem.
How NearVision CK Works
NearVision CK will reshape the surface of your eye (cornea) using the controlled release of radio waves to heat and shrink tissue. The peripheral cornea will steepen and bring your near vision back into focus without cutting or removing any tissue. The procedure boasts one of the highest safety profiles in the refractive market. The NearVision CK procedure is usually performed on only one eye and takes less than 3 minutes in the office with only eye-drop anesthesia.
You may be a candidate for NearVision CK if you:
What to expect
Once your doctor has determined that you are a candidate for NearVision CK, your eye will be photographed to determine its current and individual shape. This will be used to plan the procedure and measure results. A comprehensive pre-operative examination of your eyes is also performed. If you wear contact lenses you will need to have them out for a specified period of time prior to your exam.
The day of your procedure, you should not wear eye makeup. You will need to arrange for transportation to and from the doctor’s office. The procedure itself is fast and simple, and will take just a few minutes to perform.
After the procedure, and as with other vision correction procedures, you may experience some eye discomfort and light sensitivity for a few days. You will have eye drops to apply for several days.
In clinical studies for NearVision CK, 9 out of 10 patients could see 20/20 or better in the distance, and could read newspaper-sized print after the procedure without glasses.
If you are interested in the NearVision CK procedure, talk to your doctor. They will determine your specific vision needs and treatment plan, and establish if NearVison CK is the right procedure for you.
